Oxford, city of the “Dreaming Spires”, welcomes you for the ISCFS XIIIth Biennial International Congress and associated Distraction Symposium. VENUE AND DATES

The ISCFS XIII Biennial International Congress and Distraction Symposium will be held from Saturday, September 26th to Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 at the Barceló Hotel the city’s newest and most well-appointed four-star conference venue, ideally located approximately 2 miles from the colleges and museums in Oxford’s historic centre.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

Organised by an International Society, the official language of the congress is English.

BADGES IDENTIFICATION

A named badge will be provided with your registration documents upon arrival at the Barceló Hotel. For security and regulation process, the wearing of the badge is compulsory at all times both inside the Barceló Hotel and at all socials events organised within the context of the Congress.

CME CREDITS

EACCME

The ISCFS XIII Congress and Distraction Symposium have applied to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the CME activity for medical specialists.

The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS); you may find more information on their website: www.uems.net

The meeting attendees will be informed by the Congress Office, after the meeting, on the EACCME reply to the application. Should the meeting be granted accreditation, they will be sent a certificate stating the number of hours / CME gained.

FRENCH CME

The meeting will provide in total 28 credits in category 1 according to the registration attendance rules. This accreditation is certified by the Collège Français de Chirurgie Plastique, Reconstructrice et Esthétique (CFCPRE).

PRESENTERS DISCLOSURE OF POTENTIAL CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

The ISCFS and DISTRACTION SYMPOSIUM Organising Committee requires that all presentations be as free of commercial bias as possible and that any information on commercial products or services be based on already generally accepted medical thinking. It is also preferred that generic drug names be used wherever possible and that any presentation referring to unlabelled or research-associated commercial products should disclose this situation to session attendees/on posters display.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be notified in writing (by mail or fax BUT NOT email) to the Congress Office and are subject to the following conditions:

• Up to June 15th, 2009: € 100 / £ 94 will be withheld for administrative fee.
• After June 15th, 2009, no refunds will be issued.
• No refunds on agreed / paid registration fee and hotel pre-payment will be issued for cancellation
  or no-show due to failure to obtain a visa.

LUNCHES AND BREAKS

Lunches, morning and afternoon breaks are included in the registration fees according to the participation package you have selected. They will be served in the conference venue area and exhibition hall.

The ISCFS and MCI cannot be held liable for any hindrance or disruption of Congress proceedings arising from political, social, health or economic events or any other unforeseen incidents beyond their control. The congress cancellation conditions shall apply in any case. Registration of a participant entails acceptance of the cancellation conditions.

It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health, accident and cancellation insurance before they depart from their countries. The ISCFS and MCI as organizers will accept no liability for personal injuries sustained by or for loss or damage to property belonging to congress participants and accompanying persons either during or as a result of the Congress or during all tours and events.

HOW TO GET TO OXFORD

From the Airport

London Heathrow International Airport and Gatwick Airport are linked to Oxford.

• by bus: Buses, and airline company coaches run approximately every 20 minutes from Heathrow airport (80 minutes duration) and every hour from Gatwick airport (120 minutes duration). The buses make a few stops once they reach Oxford.
• by taxi: It is possible to take a standard taxi from the airport to Oxford. It costs approximately £ 55 / € 58.6 to/from Heathrow, and £ 90 / € 95.9 to/from Gatwick, not including tip.

From London

• by bus: The Oxford Tube and the Oxford Express both leave London’s Victoria Station every 12-20 minutes, making stops at Marble Arch, Baker Street, Notting Hill Gate, and Shepherd’s Bush before heading to Oxford’s Gloucester Green. Travel time is approximately 1h40 during off-peak times.
• by train: Trains from London leave Paddington station every half hour to the Oxford railway station. Ride lasts approximately 1h / 1h30.
• by car: Take the M25 to the M40. Get off at the A40 towards Oxford. Follow signs to the ring road. At the third roundabout, take your first left onto Woodstock Road (towards the city centre). It is recommended to use the “Park and Ride” system as parking in Oxford is difficult and expensive! Oxford’s Park and Ride service enables visitors to leave their cars at locations close to the ring-road and travel into the city centre on a frequent bus service.

Oxford is steeped in a rich history and is a cultural melting pot with its diverse and dynamic character. The city offers a large range of sightseeing options.
